Hilbre Island is approximately 1 mile from Red Rocks, the nearest part of the mainland of the Wirral. The other two islands are Little Hilbre & Little Eye. All three islands are formed of red sandstone. Hilbre Island can be reached on foot from the mainland at low tide.This is popular with local walkers and tourists, especially during the summer months. Hilbre Island has a few houses some privately owned. The pictures featured were taken in November 2015.
