Dimitrie Gusti National Village Museum-Bucharest
The National museum of the “Dimitrie Gusti” can be found in the middle of the Romanian capitol ogf Bucharest on the shores of Lake Herastrau.
All the houses at the museum have been transported from their original locations from all different regions of Romania to display their architecture and how the houses differed in their ergonomic design.
The open-air museum dates back to the second half of the 19th century.
The creation of the Village Museum was coordinated by Professor Dimitrie Gusti, the founder of the Sociological School in Bucharest.
The official opening of the Village Museum took place on May 10, 1936, in the presence of King Carol II, and for the public, a week later, May 17, 1936.
