Overview
A short walk through Chester along part of the Cheshire Canal. This part of the path leads to the lock gates and you can walk up and onto the city wall at various places. The walls were originally built by the Romans when the fortress of Deva Victrix was built in 70 a AD. The Chester Canal links Nantwich with the River Dee at Chester and opened in 1779.Pics taken January 30/1/2016.
